Community Notices Update

CEA Meetings:

The CEA is not permitted to meet in person under current COVID restrictions. We hope to make a decision after the next update on whether or not we can host an in person meeting with community in the near future or will finish off the year with a virtual meeting. There are still activities taking place and as much being done virtually as possible, we will post and update to the website under "CEA Meetings" tab, month of May, shortly.

Boot Camps

Hello everyone!

Hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.

The Black Wellness Co-operative, an NGO made up of Black health and wellness professionals, will be hosting virtual bootcamps (hopefully in-person soon). We will start by hosting one for the youth (5-15) on Saturday, at 11:00am and another on Sunday, at 11:00am for those 16+.

If you could share this with your circles, we'd really like to reach more Black individuals in Nova Scotia!

Let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you all there :)

Girl's Baseball:

My name is Kaitlyn Lehbert and I am the outreach coordinator for an organization called Canadian Girls Baseball. Canadian Girls Baseball is a national not for profit organization that serves to deliver baseball programs to girls aged 4-16 years old. Empowering young girls in sport is a big focus amongst our programs. I was looking to get in touch with you to see if you'd be able to distribute a girls baseball opportunity to your community/network. We have a girls baseball program coming up this summer in Truro, Nova Scotia! The program runs from Saturday July 10, 2021 to Saturday August 28, 2021. The program duration is 7 weeks and includes 7 sessions that take place each Saturday morning. There is no session that runs during the August long weekend. All playing levels are welcome, including girls who are new to the game of baseball! I have included the Canadian Girls Baseball program details link in this email for your reference (https://www.canadiangirlsbaseball.com/copy-of-programs). All COVID-19 safety protocols are in place for our upcoming programs. Let me know if this would be a possibility for you to pass on this Nova Scotia girls sports opportunity. I’ve also included our digital PDF flyer for your reference. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. I can be reached via email at kaitlyn@canadiangirlsbaseball.com or by cell at 289-834-2427. I look forward to talking with you soon. All the best, Kaitlyn Lehbert
